When we eat food that has come directly from the ground, we are fuelling ourselves with the energy that the earth provides. High vibrations foods are full of life source, they have retrieved that energy from the sun, from the dirt, from the water, so imagine what it does to your body to be filled with fresh and wild food that has come directly from the ground. But the minute that food is ripped out of the ground and stacked onto supermarket shelves, it begins to lose its nutrients because oxidation takes place. This is what happens when we juice fruit. The first hour of making home made juice, it benefits are immensely with all the nutrients, but after that first hour, the juice begins to oxidise, so all those smoothies and juices you’re buying in supermarkets barely have the mineral and vitamin content they claim to have because the juice has been sitting there for several days or even more! so it’s lost around over 70% of it’s original benefits which we obtain from the fresh raw veg and fruit. Don’t forget the extra added sugar with brands such as ‘Tropicana’ adding up to 8 teaspoons of sugar per 300ml and supposedly healthy brand ‘Vitamin water’ which has the equivalent of seven teaspoons of sugar per bottle. Essentially, you’re spending money and getting next to no quality or goodness in return.
Aside from the nutrients that is lost when we prepare food to be stocked for days weeks and months in supermarkets, there are now more hidden dangers ingredients wise in processed foods more than ever, causing a variety of chronic diseases, but also, disconnecting us from our bodies over time, and therefore our emotions too. These foods are designed to do so. They are designed to keep us addicted, and reliant on the temporary boost and quick fix they give us, however, they also keep us unconscious. The minute you recognise that food is not just there to nourish us physically but also emotionally and awaken us to our own power, is the minute you may begin to recognise the severe damage that eating without awareness can cause to your wellbeing.
Food is powerful when it comes to emotions. It is why so many of us cling to that chocolate bar or packet of crisps, and the struggle for most, is that are reliant on this excess of sugar and salt we have conditioned our bodies to need, has become so great, that the longer we let it continue the harder it will be to pull away from those low energy dense and damaging foods. In fact, the emotional attachment to our eating habits is so strong that I have noticed people become thoroughly defensive when I discuss the food brands we are bombarded with on a day to day basis, armed with a great promotion team, celebrity backing and labels plastered all over them explaining to people why they are worth investing it. That’s the great thing about marketing. It works so well to convince even the most shrewd minded that they should try this product and witness the incredible (and may I add mostly non existent) benefits. And then if we do not maintain our shrewdness and cynicism, before we know it, we become heavily reliant on these foods and products to the point where it becomes fanatical, extreme and a religious part of our everyday existence in our unconscious addition towards them.
And that is how food corporations succeed. They spend billions on promoting and advertising foods that keep us reliant, desensitised, disempowered, fatigued, sick, lacking incentive or motivation to move or think for ourselves or awaken to the realisation that we do indeed have a choice to make radical change and step away from the disempowering influences. These influences stem from that which we do not realise plays such a significant role in controlling our everyday habits, thought patters and mood. These influences are one of the first things we ignore when we have a health condition and go to the doctor, and the last thing we consider when it comes to what could possibly be going wrong with our bodies and mental health. Simply, food. Food corporations play an exceedingly powerful role in dumbing down our emotions and our consciousness. We treat food like a secondary thing or even the last resort to healing or restoring our wellbeing. We gorge on foods daily that are packaged, convenient, fast, dense, and slowly deteriorating our digestive system along with the lining of our gut, which is home to billions of bacteria playing the central role of controlling the state of our other organs. Without good gut health, there is little else in the body that will be functioning well.
I did not recognise that mammoth role that eating food we grow at home played in regard to my awareness expanding the way it have over the past two years until recently when friends asked “so when did you start becoming so much more aware and awake to the ways of the world”. Of course it is not just food, we go through many debilitating challenges that can drastically shift our consciousness, however one of the main answers that came automatically to the surface of my brain and shooting out of my mouth was “when we began to grow all our own food at home”. “OH”! I realised all of a sudden, that this had played such a vital and enormous role in aiding me to awaken to my body and my emotions and pay attention to what i really needed . Ditching artificial sugar, processed foods, meat and dairy and anything else that did not serve me physically or emotionally. I can not expect anyone to radically change their diet overnight and it would be highly unrealistic to expect anyone to make the change from a diet high in processed foods to plant based foods or raw plants. This transition takes time, and it can be a shock for your body to go from a drastically in-balanced diet to one that consist of high vibration foods. I have made the mistake in the past of advising friends to come off all the crap and go straight to juicing and eating raw, and because their body was so overrun with toxins , the dramatic change left them feeling nauseous, exhausted, plagued with headaches and so on, and as much as this is a great sign that your body is cleansing itself of all the waste, I would advice people to make the transition a little more slowly oppose to jumping from their current diet, straight to one that is just raw. However, I will say, that there is no end to the benefits of eating a whole-foods plant based diet that truly awakens us to the state of our body and emotions. Growing our own food or eating a diet high in foods that have the ability to heighten our vibrations resulting in good health of both the body and mind, is one of the most effective ways to radically change how we perceive and feel about our lives. I can assure you, you won’t feel that on a diet consisting primarily of animal products, nor by gorging on any ‘foods’ that need to be heavily marketed. If you want to experience the greatest vitality of mind, body and spirit, then the plant based diet is the way to go.
